So, from last one month am staying in Toronto, Canada. Came on a business trip, well, earlier weeks were loaded with work, but now, I can buy some time to write a post. So, lets talk about Toronto.
Well, anyway, I came through Amsterdam. Well, at first I was surprised the moment I landed in Amsterdam. I thought I was in China, rather than in Holland. The Schiphol airport was tightly packed with Chinese people. I thought my travel dept messed up and sent me to china instead of Canada. After sometime I have realized that I was on the right itinerary, because, I never saw any noodles stall or bugs being fried or any Mandarin speaking Chinese ppl near by [ poor joke huh ? (Inspired by Russell
) ].
So, after 19hrs of traveling and waiting, I have finally arrived at YYZ [search airport codes for this]. It was night and I was awfully tired, because, I couldn’t sleep in the plane [KLM has provided us with like 300 movies, many series and much more music, who would miss that, for an incomplete nap ? not me! ]. Russell peters once made a joke about Indians working at North American airports and how they are different from terrorists and all, actually its not a joke, its a fact. The moment I was out of immigration area [they were so..so … pita. They questioned me for like 30 min.], there were so many Indian taxi drivers, waiting for their clients for that night. Mr. Singh has offered me his service, and ofcourse he charged me, the most, 65 Euros.
TORONTO AND NIAGARA FALLS
Anyway, my first weekend was fun, I have friends came from Montreal to Toronto. So, we went, like, to CN Tower, then took a cruise to Toronto Islands and then to Downtown Toronto, Dundas Square and all. Then the best part, we had buffet at BRAR. That night we continued our ride to NIAGARA FALLS. It was just awesome at night with all the lights and all, memorable experience. The falls were furious, making loud noises, drenching every person who tries to go near by it. Just spectacular. We had a [only] nature capturing photographer, so we have to wait for him to complete his 360dg Panorama scan of NIAGARA.
Later, we went to pub near by, which basically, denied an entry for us, pointing at one of my friends sports shoes. Then, we moved to CASINO. Yet, another surprise was waiting for me here, there are Chinese people all over this Casino, not working, but spending their money. I saw very less whites, no Indians, of course, but Chinese. Why in the hell would they come to Canada and spend their money in this Casino !! Pondering with my little brain about it, I have retired for bed.
People in Canada, love Tim-Hortons. Where ever or what ever the place I go, if am at Tim-Hortons, it was just, fully packed with people and the queue for getting any thing, is long. But, the French Vanilla [medium sized] coffee is the one which you gotta try. Bagels are famous for snack/breakfast whatever it is for. Egg Sandwich is also great. Give these a try.
Next day, we went for the famous Maid-of-the-Mist cruise, which took us near to the Niagara, like 600ft near the falls. At that point, you cant hear anything except the noise made by the falls, you can see nothing except the bright light of the falls and of course you can shout like hell and nobody’s gonna hear you anyway.
On the Toronto metro everyone loves to hear music while traveling. So, no loud noises, no LOLs and no ROFLs, just ipods in your ears and everything’s very silent, like Lahari’s C Class… So I didn’t enjoy much traveling in the metro, so just avoid it.
.
Ciao., will be back with more soon.
